Jelsa to Hvar

After a pleasant breakfast at Obala Cafe next to the harbour we gave the bikes a bit of a clean. Our hostess Vesna was very helpful and had left out a cleaning cloth and hose in her courtyard. Overcast and a bit windy, we rode the 11km to Stari Grad where we stopped for a coffee. We stopped at the ferry port to buy tickets for Saturday's trip to Split, then started the climb towards the tunnel, stopping to remove raincoats as we heated up. 8, 9 and 10 percent climbs warm you up nicely.
The 1.5km long tunnel was well lit and not too scary.
After the tunnel the rain came down, so once again we arrived at our destination a bit cold and wet.
We are in Hvar for two nights and our very nice apartment has a washing machine - and a hairdryer.
The rain continued all afternoon and into the night. Pat walked into town to get supplies and Tracey did some washing.
