Lake Bohinj to Lake Bled

After a big breakfast at Hotel Bohinj (we were the only guests) we rode out along the lake for a bit before heading towards Bled. For the first 11km the route took us through little Slovenian villages in deep green valleys with views of snow capped mountains. The roads were lined with wildflowers. Once we hit the main road to Bled the riding was fast and flat at >30k/h. The blue sky and scattered cloud we started under was now looking threatening, and apart from a photo stop when we crossed the river we had a fast run into Bled.
Bled is amazingly picturesque, but with rain threatening we headed straight for our hotel, where we were able to check in at 11am, and Tracey had a bath!
The rain stayed away pretty well, so we had a wander around and visited the tourist info centre.
We decided to visit Vintgar Gorge, a short local bus ride and 20 minute walk away. Great decision, and thank you to Alex, Pat's tennis partner, for the recommendation. Just amazing, and nobody should go to Bled and miss it. The photos hopefully give you some idea.
