Marbach to Bad Wimpfen

After a very nice breakfast at Gasthof Zum Baren, we started our ride along the Neckar bike route with Pam and Andrew.
The bike route is pretty well sign posted, and as long as you stay alert and don't miss a sign it is easy enough to follow.
After about 25km we met Erika and Knud at a cafe for morning tea.
The six of us had a very pleasant ride, including a few good climbs, to Neckarsulm, where we visited the two wheel museum, and left Andrew and Knud, who were doing an Audi factory tour.
On the short ride to Bad Wimpfen, after crossing the river over a steeply ramped bridge, we saw flood debris next to the cycle path above head height. A week earlier this ride would not have been possible.
We rode into town and immediately found our beautiful, well-located, guest house - well chosen Pam!
The boat trip was due to start the next day, Saturday, and most of the other passengers were staying at the big Rosengarten Hotel.
Because of the severe flooding, none of us could be sure that the boat would make it to Bad Wimpfen to start the trip.
The locals were preparing for the weekend medieval festival.
We had dinner with Pam and Andrew at a nice restaurant,(Frederick II - beautiful braised steak & onions & creme brulee) and outside was a rehearsal for a historical reenactment that concluded with a woman being put in the stocks for insulting her husband.
